Dungeons & Dragons Monsters as TransformersArtist Andrew Sorohan is a dedicated fan of the Transformers franchise. To prepare for Halloween, he’s taking classic monsters from Dungeons & Dragons and other media and reimagining them as transformable robots. Here’s a beholder, one of the greatest monsters from the game which has slaughtered unwary characters since its introduction in 1975.
The First Trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among ThievesIt's been said that Dungeons & Dragons fans only get up from the table to go watch other people play D&D on Twitch. Well, soon we might get them to the theater. Yeah, there was a trilogy of D&D movies a few years back, but they were so bad that the third one never made it to theaters. But now a new film is taking on the tabletop role-playing game, serving as a reboot to the franchise. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine, Regé-Jean Page, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, and Hugh Grant. Besides a star-studded cast, you'll see an owlbear, a dragon, a gelatinous cube, a mimic, and a displacer beast, among other D&D touchstones for those in the know. This fantasy adventure has lots of action, lush special effects, and quite a bit of humor. The trailer was released today at San Diego Comic Con. Reaction among gamers around the internet is cautious, however. It's hard to tell the quality of a story from a two-minute trailer, and they've been burned before. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be in theaters in March of 2023. -via Metafilter#DungeonsandDragons #DungeonsandDragonsHonorAmongThieves #trailer
Roll a Twenty-Sided Die to Decide How You Will Take an Intoxication PenaltyThe fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons has no official rules for getting drunk, but fans have createdhouse rules for their own games. Expect to take some ability roll penalties, especially if you have a low Constitution. If your party is visiting an especially well-appointed tavern, such as Little Chicago Entertainment, then you may have options beyond the conventional ale and wine. This establishment in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan offers boardgames, axe throwing, and alcohol. If you’re not sure what to drink, roll a 20-sided die. Redditor u/AnaphlacticHippo shares this photo of a random drink menu. It could be improved by making a critical failure (a natural 1) result in a double.#DungeonsAndDragons #drunk #cocktails

When a Dragon Plays Dungeons & DragonsImagine a friendly game of Dungeons & Dragons, except one of the players is a real dragon! A dragon named Chris. Strangely, in this scenario, his game character isn't a dragon at all, but that doesn't change the nature of the player.
Dungeons & Dragons Stats for Cartoon CharactersFor many years, TSR, the company that created Dungeons & Dragons, published a monthly print magazine about the game. It was titled Dragon. In addition to ads for TSR products, the pages of Dragon were filled with helpful suggestions and encounter ideas for Dungeon Masters to use. On Twitter, Robert McNees informs us that in 1981, Dragon published stats for eight cartoon characters if they were NPCs.Check out out how Popeye, Daffy Duck, Rocky, Bullwinkle, Marvin the Martian, the Tasmanian Devil, and the Jolly Green Giant are equipped below, or visit the original thread over at @mcnees. Donald Duck is, appropriately, a berserker who cannot be killed without enormous difficulty once he has gone into a rage.
