The First Trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

It's been said that Dungeons & Dragons fans only get up from the table to go watch other people play D&D on Twitch. Well, soon we might get them to the theater. Yeah, there was a trilogy of D&D movies a few years back, but they were so bad that the third one never made it to theaters. But now a new film is taking on the tabletop role-playing game, serving as a reboot to the franchise. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine, Regé-Jean Page, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, and Hugh Grant. Besides a star-studded cast, you'll see an owlbear, a dragon, a gelatinous cube, a mimic, and a displacer beast, among other D&D touchstones for those in the know. This fantasy adventure has lots of action, lush special effects, and quite a bit of humor. The trailer was released today at San Diego Comic Con. Reaction among gamers around the internet is cautious, however. It's hard to tell the quality of a story from a two-minute trailer, and they've been burned before.
