The Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California Displays Sign Supporting Chris Rock

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must have heard of the “slap heard around the world” at the Oscars last week. In response to the unexpected showdown between Will Smith and Chris Rock, folks in Hollywood have had mixed reactions with some taking Will’s side and others on Chris’ side. Now, Hollywood’s very own The Laugh Factory has come out to publicly support Chris Rock over the whole situation.

The comedy club’s marquee now displays the comedian's picture with the message: “Laugh Factory supports First Amendment rights for all comedians. The comedy community loves & supports you Chris.”

The incident at the Oscars began when Chris made a joke directed at Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Referring to her bald head, Rock made an allusion to Jada being in GI Jane 2 - a reference to the Demi Moore movie where she played a character with a shaved head. The couple did not take kindly to the joke, leading to the infamous moment that nobody can seem to stop talking about all week.
