Jodie Whittaker is retiring as Doctor Who after five years in the TARDIS. When she regenerates as a new Doctor for the new TV season, the role will be played by Rwandan-Scottish actor <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ncuti_Gatwa">Ncuti Gatwa</a> in the 14th incarnation of the character. The 29-year-old Gatwa has been in several films and television shows, most notably as Eric Effiong in the Netflix series Sex Education. He won a Scottish BAFTA for that role in 2020, and was nominated for another BAFTA in 2021.
