The Golden Raspberry Awards, affectionately known as the Razzies, are always announced the night before the Academy Awards. They are designed to recognize the worst in cinema from the previous year. This year's winners, like the Oscars, are very likely to be from movies you've not seen, or maybe never even heard of. But they are always fun to know about. The movies that dominated the Razzie awards this year were the Netflix streaming film Diana: The Musical, which won in five categories, and Space Jam: A New Legacy, which won three.
Diana: The Musical was graced with a Razzie for Worst Picture, plus Worst Actress for Jeanna de Waal as Diana, Worst Supporting Actress for Judy Kaye who played two characters, Worst Director Christopher Ashley, and Worst Screenplay.
Space Jam: A New Legacy won the Razzies for Worst Actor (LeBron James), Worst Screen Couple (LeBron James with any cartoon character), and Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.
Jared Leto got a Razzie as Worst Supporting Actor for his role in House of Gucci. The special category this year for Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie went to the movie Cosmic Sin. If you are tempted to watch any of these movies, at least you now know what you are getting into.
