Batman Day will See Three Caped Crusader Movies Return to Theaters

Batman Day is September 17. That's the date that the Batman first appeared in a comic book, Detective Comics #27, in 1939. For the special occasion, Cinemark theaters are bringing back three classic Batman films to be seen on the big screen in all their glory. Those will be Tim Burton's 1989 Batman, its sequel Batman Returns from 1992, and the animated Batman: Mask of the Phantasm from 1993. If you do't have a Cinemark theater near you, they will all be streaming on HBO Max the same day.

Comic book stores will be getting into the spirit of the holiday, too. DC is releasing two special edition comic books that will be given away free at participating shops on September 17. They are titled Batman: Hush #1 Batman Day Special, and for kids, Batman's Mystery Casebook Batman Day Special Edition. Read more about the planned Batman Day celebrations at the DC site.
