An Honest Trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi
Disney+ just finished airing the miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi, but if you plan on watching it in its entirety at a later time, you might want to avoid this Honest Trailer. The plot isn't given away, but there are plenty of details you might want to wait for. It's the story of some of the events that occurred in the years that Luke was growing up on Tatooine, when the original Star Wars trilogy painted him as a completely random character who rose to greatness, but the prequels set him up as crucial. Of course, Screen Junkie's mission in the Honest Trailer series is to point out all the bad things about a movie or TV series. In this one, they have plenty of plot holes to point out, which is pretty much par for the course when you are trying to bridge the existing movies in the story. There are also tropes that have been overdone and gaps in logic in a few places. But altogether, I think they liked Obi-Wan Kenobi.#starwars #ObiWanKenobi #HonestTrailer
Dance Battle: Obi-Wan vs. Anakin
That brutal final fight between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar from the movie Revenge of the Sith gets the disco treatment in the hands of Auralnauts. What are they fighting about now? It's a rivalry over the affections of the visibly pregnant Padme, which might make sense until you hear the dialog (which, in my opinion, is the best part of this video). The kaleidoscopic dance sequence take a bit of the sting out of Anakin being chopped up into little little pieces and burned by lava. That doesn't usually happen when rivals decide a winner by who's got the best dance moves. Mace Windu, Yoda, and even the Emperor get into the act in this weird mashup.#StarWars #Auralnauts #Anakin #ObiWanKenobi #dance
The Obi-Wan Kenobi Teaser Trailer is Here
Disney's next new Star Wars series is Obi-Wan Kenobi. We are finally getting a look at Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan after the fall of the Jedi, in his self-exile to Tatooine. We will also see Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader eventually. Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are back as Owen and Beru Lars. The generation that loved the Star Wars prequels are beside themselves with nostalgic excitement to see what happened to Obi-Wan and the infant Luke Skywalker after Vader and his forces broke up the Jedi council and slaughtered the younglings. From this teaser, it is apparent that the Emperor didn't just forget about the few Jedi that escaped- he sent his forces searching for them, making Obi-Wan's job all that much more dangerous. Ewan McGregor looks just the right amount older. The music hearkens back to his adventures with Anakin Skywalker. The presence of Vader connects this story with the original 1977 Star Wars. What could possibly go wrong? The epic nature of this teaser makes it clear that the entire franchise is riding on the success of this series. The six-episode miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 25 on Disney+.#starwars #obiwankenobi
An Update on the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV Series
Fans have been clamoring for Ewan McGregor to return to the Star Wars universe for years, considering the possibilities for the space wizard during his exile on Tatooine, while he was guarding the young Luke Skywalker from a distance. This idea was assumed to be a movie, but after the poor performance of Solo and the birth of the Disney+ streaming service, McGregor will reprise his role in a six-episode limited series titled Obi-Wan Kenobi beginning sometime in 2022. Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse will play Owen and Beru Lars as they did in the prequels, and Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader. There's no word yet as to who, if anyone, will play Luke Skywalker. But there will also be new characters, and all information about them is under an embargo of sorts. Two of them will be played by Sung Kang and Kumail Nanjiani, who cannot tell us who they play, or even what they play. But there have been little teases about what's to come in Obi-Wan Kenobi, as both actors try to dance around the question.
