The London Eye, also known as the Millenium Wheel, was opened on December 31, 1999. After decades of being part of the iconic landmarks in the city, there is a chance that i<a href="https://www.timeout.com/london/news/the-london-eye-could-be-gone-by-2028-120822">t could be removed by 2028.&nbsp;</a>The reason lies behind how its stay is organized. Upon its construction in the 90s, the London Eye was only set to have a five-year lease, which was then continuously extended until today.&nbsp;The current lease only runs until 2028, and there has been no confirmation that it will be extended in the near future.
