Artist Used AI to Show How Dead Celebrities Would Look Like if They Were Alive TodayWhat if the car accident that took out Princess Diana did not happen in 1997? What if Heath Ledger did not die from acute intoxication? What if Freddie Mercury was still alive today? What would he look like today? Pondering the question of "What if" about his favorite celebrities, lawyer and photographer Alper Yesiltas used AI to create a photo series titled "As If Nothing Happened." The AI-based project shows the celebrities mentioned above, in Yesiltas's words, "if some great events had not happened to them." Aside from those mentioned, Yesitas also made "What If" photos for Bruce Lee, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, and more. Yesiltas posts these images over at his Instagram account.In a Buzzfeed article about his project, Yesiltas stated that he thinks that AI has the power to create "anything imaginable." Realizing this, Yesiltas thought of what he could do that would make him the happiest.
