Your local bar, pub, or tavern is where you can be yourself. The people who hang out at the neighborhood bar have always served as a support group, because they are just people, without the obligations and expectations that come with family or co-workers. A drink or two encourages you to relax and open up to making friends. So it is only natural that such an important institution is included in TV sitcoms.
Forty years ago, as of September 30th, we were introduced to a bar called Cheers, where everyone knows your name. In honor of the anniversary of the beloved sitcom Cheers, Inside Hook is highlighting Cheers and other sitcom bars where characters gather and let their true feelings come out, with the stories behind them and relevant video clips. These sitcoms are all newer than Cheers, which probably inspired them. Each one has their own flavor that comes from the people who habitually gather there. You are lucky if you find a place in real life that's as welcoming and dependable as TV's sitcom bars. -via Digg
