Sir David Attenborough was filming a documentary about the UK’s prehistoric era for BBC One when he discovered a find of a lifetime. The 96-year-old English broadcaster, biologist, natural historian, and author was with a team of fossil experts to film 'Attenborough and the Giant Sea Monster' (a working title) when he found a skull of a giant Pliosaur.
This animal was one of the “most ferocious Jurassic predators ever known.” Experts believe that this was a new species they haven’t seen before, and they are currently working on excavating the skulls discovered. "Pliosaurs were the biggest and most formidable hunters in the Jurassic seas – the marine equivalent, you might say, of T-rex,” Sir Attenborough explained."The skull of this one is, by itself, over two meters long and armed with massive fangs."
