Sometimes, the stars must descend on the ground to take matters into their own hands.
Tired of potholes dotting the street near his home, rock legend Sir Rod Stewart took it upon himself to fix them. Armed with shovels and gravels, the 77-year-old singer and team got down and dirty, filling up the potholes near his Essex estate by themselves.
In the video he shared on Instagram, Stewart explained how the street’s holes had been troubling the community for quite a while and nobody seemed to do anything about it. His action has been praised by the locals, although the Essex Highways committee expressed more reservation about the initiative. In a statement, the board’s spokesperson commended Stewart’s commitment but deterred others into following suit without proper traffic management and safety measures.
