People magazine released the name of their annual Sexiest Man Alive last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The title for 2021 goes to Paul Rudd.
You know Rudd as Ant-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, plus a host of hit romantic comedies going back to the mid-'90s. His latest projects include the new movie Ghostbusters: Afterlife and the Apple TV+ series The Shrink Next Door.
By all accounts, the 52-year-old Rudd is an all-around nice guy, which just drives home the point that character goes a long way in making a man sexy. A sense of humor helps, too. He tells us how Julie, his wife of 18 years, reacted when she read the news.
"She was stupefied," he says. "But you know she was very sweet about it. After some giggling and shock, she said 'Oh, they got it right.' And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what's she going to say?"
