Oppenheimer Reigns at the Academy Awards

The movie Oppenheimer went into the 96th Academy Awards with 13 nominations, and took home seven Oscars, including those for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey, Jr.), Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, and Best Film Editing.

Poor Things had a great evening as well, with an Oscar for Emma Stone as Best Actress, plus Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design. The Zone of Interest won Best International Feature Film, as well as Best Sound, and 20 Days in Mariupol won Best Documentary Feature. Even Godzilla got an Oscar, with Godzilla Minus One taking Best Visual Effects.

Killers of the Flower Moon, despite ten nominations and a bunch of Golden Globe awards, won no Oscars at all. Barbie, with eight nominations, won only the Best Song award, for “What Was I Made For?” The movie had two nominations in that category. The other song was "I'm Just Ken," which didn't win but was performed by Ryan Gosling in a thoroughly pink production number at the awards ceremony.
