Offbeat Pop Culture Action Figures by Retrogimmick

I’m always delighted to see custom action figures, but Etsy seller Retrogimmick goes far beyond this genre of toymaking. Yes, he will make action figures of lesser-known characters, such as the nude swimmer from the beginning of the horror movie Jaws.

But he also makes toys for characters that don’t even exist, yet reflect memes, such as the internet argument that Die Hard is a Christmas movie. It’s hard to argue with that point of view when John McLane is wearing a seasonally-appropriate outfit.

The Comics Code Authority, which regulated American comic book content from 1954 through the turn of the century, never produced its own superhero. But if it had, I suspect it would be as bland as this one.

What’s going on with Fred Savage in The Wonder Years? In this case, his head is actually from a He-Man action figure.
