We've enjoyed the webcomic Strange Planet from Nathan W. Pyle for four years now. The delightful aliens of the series have graced t-shirts, calendars, plush toys, and two bestselling books. And next month, they star in a 10-episode TV series on Apple TV+. The series Strange Planet is a collaboration between Pyle and Dan Harmon, who gave us Rick and Morty and Community.
Apple TV+ described the series as being about aliens on "a distant world not unlike our own." They live their everyday lives using a literal approximation of English that sheds light on the absurdity of the way humans do it. The voice cast for the animated series will include Tunde Adebimpe (Rachel Getting Married), Demi Adejuyigbe (The Amber Ruffin Show), Lori Tan Chinn (Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens), Danny Pudi (Community) and Hannah Einbinder (Hacks).
Strange Planet will premiere on Wednesday, August 9, and drop a new episode each Wednesday until September 27.
