Jane Fonda Throws Award To Winner At Cannes

Now this is an interesting way to present an award at a festival. Jane Fonda was assigned to award the highest prize, called the Palme d’Or award at the Cannes Film Festival to Justine Triet, a French filmmaker for her courtroom drama Anatomy of a Fall. The thriller shows Sandra Hüller as a writer trying to prove her innocence in her husband’s death.

This exciting movie is the third film directed by a woman to win the top prize at the festival. It won against a solid competition, which included Wes Anderson, Todd Haynes, and Karim Ainouz. After Triet made her acceptance speech, she ended up leaving her award behind. Fonda did her best to make sure that the director does not forget her award. She decided to throw the award at Triet.

Don’t worry, as the trophy is not as heavy as it looks. In fact, it was light as a scroll of paper, and Triet didn’t even notice that it was thrown at her. The moment was captured on a camera, and the footage is now making rounds on the Internet. Netizens cackle in delight at the event and are cheering on Fonda’s good throw.
