Sarah Michelle Gellar doesn’t just play a hero on TV. She is a real one, too – at least if you listen to this father and son.
TikTok user SloppyJoey17 asks his father to share the story of how Buffy saved their lives. Many years ago (Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired 1997-2003), the family found themselves under a tornado alert. The mother took the kids down to the storm cellar. But the father wanted to watch the season finale of Buffy. So he stayed in the house to watch it, followed by its spin-off Angel (1999-2004). Then he searched for his family.
The tornado had knocked a tree across the doors of the storm cellar. They were unable to escape.
If the father had actually gone down with them, they would have all been trapped inside. So Buffy saved their lives. The two, though, close the video by giving credit to actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.
On Instagram, Gellar graciously responded, “You don’t owe me anything.”
