Heat Vision and Jack: The Best TV Pilot That Didn't Get Picked Up

It's a television pilot that has got everything: Jack Black as an astronaut who flew too close to the Sun and was exposed to large amounts of solar energy, thus making him the world's smartest man (but only during the day, Jack reverted back to a regular guy at night); Owen Wilson as a talking motorcycle named "Heat Vision" with the brain of Jack's unemployed roommate; and Ron Silver (as himself) and the rest of NASA as the main villain.

The 30-minute pilot was written by Dan Harmon (who created and produced Community and co-created Rick and Morty) and Rob Schrab (who co-created and directed The Sarah Silverman Program). It was directed in 1999 by Ben Stiller, who won an Emmy for goodness' sake. Like I said, it's got everything.

But for some inexplicable reason, Fox decided not to pick it up and turn it into a series (Why, Fox, why? Oh well, there's always Netflix!)

It's been over twenty years, but the magnificence that is Heat Vision and Jack has only grown. The pilot is a cult favorite, and if you haven't seen it yet, here's your chance:
