While some may lament the trend in prequels, sequels, and spinoffs in feature films, you have to understand that television choices have exploded with streaming services, and there's an ever-growing need for content. One new show that looks promising despite being a prequel to a movie is coming to Paramount+. Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies is a series centered on teens, but it has a lot of extras going for it. It's a musical romantic comedy, set in 1954 before the events of the 1971 musical and the 1978 film Grease, that follows the origins of the clique of girls known as the Pink Ladies at Rydell High. There are 31 songs ready to go for the series! Even before the premiere, we think this will draw teenagers, musical theater nerds, Grease fans, and older folks nostalgic for the 1950s. Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies will premiere on Paramount+ on April 6. -via Uproxx ā
