Futurama Returns After a Ten-Year Absence

The animated TV series Futurama has always been popular, but it's had a difficult history. It first aired on Fox, then went to Cartoon Network in a mix of reruns and new episodes, then to Comedy Central with a mixture or reruns, new episodes, and chopped-up feature films. New episodes ceased production in 2013, but old Futurama episodes were shown on SyFy, FXX, and Comedy Central. Fans followed the show from network to network, but it wasn't easy.

But now Futurama is back, will all-new episodes to begin streaming on Hulu on July 24. In the ten years since it was last produced, a few things have happened here in the 21st century that are easy fodder for the science fiction comedy. The whole gang is back: Philip J. Fry, Leela, Zoidberg, Bender, and Professor Farnsworth. We get a taste of the new episodes in this this trailer for the eighth season -or eleventh season, depending on what you count. -via Geeks Are Sexy ā€‹
