Deadpool 3 has long been in the works, and finally we get to find out something about it. In this movie, Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, officially joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The superhero was formerly classified in the X-Men category. That's going to cause some confusion down the line from MCU pedants: "There are now 46 movies in the MCU, unless you count the first two Deadpool movies, in which case there are 48." The first two Deadpool movies were released by 20th Century Fox, which Disney has since bought.
But the real news is that Hugh Jackman is returning as Wolverine in Deadpool 3! Reynolds tosses that out in this video as if it's nothing, but audiences will be excited. Wolverine died in his last film, Logan, but Marvel will find some way around that. Maybe they will claim that Logan is set further in the future. Deadpool 3 also has a release date. It will hit theaters on September 6, 2024. Two years? Oh well.
