The story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz just grabs you. In an era when women were relatively powerless in Hollywood, Lucy knew her worth and used it. The series I Love Lucy was not only innovative, it was a juggernaut in 1950s television. Now we get a cinematic look behind the scenes with the Aaron Sorkin film Being the Ricardos. Lucy is played by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem portrays Desi. J.K. Simmons plays William Frawley who played Fred Mertz, and Nina Arianda plays Vivian Vance who played Ethel Mertz.
It's true that we don't really get a good luck at Lucy in this teaser, but it sure makes me want to see the movie. Even though it's an Amazon Prime film, Being the Ricardos will debut in theaters December 10. Oh yeah, it will stream soon afterward. It sounds like they're going for the Academy Awards.
