An Off-Duty California Fire Captain Stopped and Saved a Woman and her Dog from a Burning House on the Way to the Rams Versus 49ers Football Game

What happened last January 31st was a humbling experience for the inhabitants of Dozier Street, Los Angeles. What came to the aid of the fire that engulfed 56-year-old Blanca's house was an off-duty Pasadena fire captain dressed in his lucky Rams attire.

ā€‹Captain William Basulto had been on his way to a Rams game with his father and son when they came across the fire. Basulto was quick to act. He guided the neighbours on where to point their garden hoses, told them to call 911, and updated newly arrived firefighters on the incident. His most heroic act, however, involved saving Blanca and her dog out of their quickly perishing house.

Basulto's beloved Rams sneakers took a hit, but he was able to fulfil his dream of taking his father and son to a Rams game, and a victorious one at that!
