During the summer, when the Barbie movie exploded over the pop culture universe like a bomb designed by Oppenheimer, the Brazilian division of Burger King released a Barbie-themed burger as a promotional item. It had pink cheese.
That’s nice, but Jonathan Surratt, an expert on burger-making who runs the burger development website Between the Buns, thinks that he can do better. His burger is served with buns dyed pink and cheese sliced with Monterrey Jack blended with beet juice. Surratt assembled non-pink ingredients, too, and was careful to cook the meat patties thoroughly, leaving no pink in the meat.
