A Better Ending for Revenge of the Sith

What can you say about Revenge of the Sith besides it was the best of the three Star Wars prequels? We all knew what was going to happen because the narrative had to bridge the two earlier prequels and lead to the original trilogy, so there were no real surprises. We knew Anakin would become Darth Vader and Luke would be taken to Tatooine and Leia would become a princess. But there were a couple of things that just didn't quite make sense: 1. While Anakin had an incentive to turn to the dark side, he didn't have a motive for suddenly killing the Jedi and the younglings, and 2. Padme gave up the will to live even though she had two new children to live for.

Given the movie came out 16 years ago, we've had plenty of time to ponder those inconsistencies. Jordan Breeding at Cracked thinks he could fix that script with just a few tweaks, giving Anakin a real reason to hate the Jedi, and giving Padme a real reason to die that doesn't depend on her personal heartbreak. Read the alternate Revenge of the Sith ending he came up with, which still leads to the same place but with more logic, at Cracked.
